Born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil raised in Boca Raton, Florida, Izzy grew up writing music in her formative years. Played Violin, Guitar and Piano in elementary school and throughout her highschool years. Recorded her first few songs on an 8 track in Paris in her Junior year. Went on that same year to record backing vocals for a rap group also based in Paris. Izzy then moved to Rio, produced her first professional demo and got signed to EMI records Brazil at the age of 17. During the production of her first solo demo she co-wrote a track that went platinum in Brazil several times. Izzy then moved to NYC and went on to start painting at a revolutionary art movement based in Soho called The Greenhouse. Coming out in page 6 of the Post and reaking havoc amongst Soho residents and NYC at large. She Performed on the Frying Pan at age 18 for a 9/11 tribute concert post fashion show during fashion week, that same year she performed underground in Soho at a small yet powerful happening. Izzy then went to Los Angeles and laid down 14 tracks acoustically at a known studio to the Johnny Depp family. She then went to Rio and recorded more tracks with the likes of a wild bunch of top Brazilian session players. Izzy then moved back to NYC and began recording with Brad Tolinski of Guitar World Magazine and played all throughout NYC, Cutting Room, Bowery Electric, Canal Room and John Varvatos are just a few to name the least. Izzy Zay is a professional painter with works shown on her website www.izzyzayart.com. Izzy also went to college for Fashion Design at the Arts Institute in NYC and designs her own clothes. She is currently working on her second screenplay. Izzy has written over 180 songs and is licenced in Drums, Guitar and Piano by the governement of Brazil at the age of 15.
